Regular MFT
The regular MFT is meant for conservation practitioners that need reliable aging information with as little effort as possible. The instrument has a single white LED for both aging and color change assessment.
This version is recommend for people new the the field of microfedometry.
Research grade MFT
The research grade MFT is designed for scientists that need freedom in aging agents.
The instrument is equipped with multiple light sources. One can perform the aging with one LED and do the color change assessment with another. The MFT LED changer can be populated with monochromatic and white LEDs.
For example, one may want to explore the aging due to UV light. A UV LED is good for lightfastening but completely inaproprieate for color readout. With a research grade MFT one can do the aging with a UV LED and do the readout with white LED.
This version requires more experience to operate. You will also need to choose the set of LEDs that will populate the LED changer. See the Instructions on LED selection.
