Scientific MFT light source changer issue on tripod

We checked the MFT with standard settings and the hardware function was good.
After transferring the MFT to the tripod, we reconnected the unit, turned the light source back to its home position, and then switched the light sources, but all or some of the light sources (like 1 or 3 are lit, but 2 or 4 are not) do not light up properly.
Remove the MFT from the tripod, reinstall it on the horizontal base plate, and restart it. The hardware function is back to normal.

This is causing problems in the measurement practices of our current project, what could we do to troubleshoot this issue?

Mei Sure. There is a spring load mechanism in the LED changer that has to maintain the balance: it should be weak enough so that the LEDs can switch, and strong enough so that a proper electric contact is maintained regardless of the position horizontal or vertical of the changer. Your system is about 5 years old and apparently that balance has shifted from the original settings.
There has been also several improvements in the LED changer operations since then. We will talk to you over an e-mail to discuss the actions that need to be undertaken to fix the issue.
