Position of LED lights on the scientific MFT instrument

I’ve encountered an issue where occasionally the lights do not match the LED positioning number. E.g. UV light seen when the software indicates LED is at position 1 / 2700K? Has anyone else encountered this? It manages to correct itself after cycling through the lights a few times but I wanted to know if I should be doing anything specific when starting up the MFT to avoid this?

Dear nzachri,

On the LED changer there is a limit switch that allows to specify the current LED slot. Sometimes the information about the position is lost. Did you try to use “Home” button in the “LED” section in control panel? This button allows to find the limit switch and restore information abut the current LED slot.

Hello Anna,

Thank you for that information, yes I have been using the Home button to help reposition the LEDs. I notice that the Home button on my MFT software doesn’t become active until after I have changed the position of the LED though? Is this normal?

Dear nzachri,
Yes, it is expected behaviour. When the instrument is turned off, the position is lost. When the instrument is connected with the software, at the beginning, the position is still unknown. Only after moving the changer the Home procedure may be successfully found. Hopefully, this solution does not cause to much inconvenience for you.
